5/19 We will be completing the last 2 outlines on infectious and noninfectious disease's.
5/20 We will be going out to the park, and students will get the study guide to prepare for the test that will be on Monday. If students complete the study guide they can receive up to 5 additional points on the test. If they do not complete the study guide they will not have an opportunity for extra points. The study guide is due before the test on Monday 5/24.
5/24 We will be taking the last test of the year on the outlines that were covered up until 5/19.
5/26 We will be celebrating the end of the year will a Healthy Party where students will be challenged to make a delicious dish that is healthy to eat. Healthy means the ingredients must be high fructose corn syrup free, trans fat free, and MSG free. We will have a list to pass around so students can sign up for their food or drink. This is not for a grade, so if you can’t provide a dish don't worry about it.

End of the Year, Here's to Your Health!!!
To start off our week in Health we will be working on poster boards for the raise awareness campaign. Wednesday we will be in the tech lab continuing with the written product of the raise awareness campaign. There is nothing due this week in health.
This week in health we will work on Outline on Alcohol Caffeine and Tobacco. These documents are found in files, both the out line and the power point.
We are also starting the Raise Awareness Campaign where we will perform skits during class about ways teenagers can say "No!" to risky behaviors. The REAL acrostic stands for Refuse, Explain, Avoid, Leave. The skits will be role playing these actions when students find themselves in a scenario where they need to make a choice. We will be creating poster boards to put up in the school which will advertise the dangers of risky behaviors and how and way to stay away from them.
The Raise Awareness Campaign will go in to next week when students will be completing there poster boards and written assignments.

Students finished whatching movie on Obesity in America. Thursday we began the section on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. If students did not attened class they can find the Drg Abuse Power Point and Outline in Files. They can follow the power point and fill in the outline. Please hold on to the completed outline to study for the test that is TBA.
Monday in health students will learn about Diabetes in an in class group exercise. In files there are the documents of this exercise titled Diabetes Scavenger Hunt. There is a series of cards that hold the information and a work sheet with blanks that need to be filled in with the information found on the cards. If a student was absent for this activity in class it may be completed as home work for full credit.
10 Point assignment
Wednesday in health students will be finishing the scavenger Hunt and reading an article on diabetes. Following this there will be an in class discussion about the disease.
10 Points for participation
The following week in health is uncertain due to the State Testing for 10th graders. The activities will not be graded and it will be either a P.E. like activity or a health related movie. TBA
